Frisco/Keystone
This is an easy 26-mile round trip ride around part of the lake with 1,000' of climb on gentle grades.
Caution: much of this ride between Frisco and Dillon follows a well-used path with many blind corners and may have many pedestrians on it. Please ride carefully through these sections, respect the pedestrians and signal as you approach them.
Start from the Frisco Marina (or at the Dillon Amphitheater for a shorter 14 mile ride with 800' of gentle climbing). The bike path begins next to the cemetery at the Marina. The path winds around the shoreline of Lake Dillon passing the middle school and weaving around the marshes. The path parallels the Dam road for a moment then heads back onto a path with views of the lake on every corner. The path follows a series of up and down rollers passing the Heaton Bay Campground. Use caution when crossing the two access roads.
Again the path goes along the Dillon Dam road passing a parking area that explains the history of the Dam and then crosses the dam. Turn-offs for Silverthorne are on the left but continue straight ahead to the back of the Amphitheater. Be sure to stay on the bike path and avoid the pedestrian-only path that splits off from the bike path in this area. The path continues just past the Marina. Continue up the hill toward Highway 6 where the bike path resumes adjacent to the Highway along the shores of the lake.

The path crosses Snake River by means of pedestrian bridges before coming to an intersection to Swan Mountain Road to the right and Keystone straight ahead. The path resumes following Highway 6 to the next intersection. Here the path continues over a bridge and on into the woods; however, portions of it are in poor repair so the route shown turns right at this intersection then left into a Keystone neighborhood. The route exits the neighborhood through a short section of the Keystone Golf Course, then through a gate. Turn left after the gate and follow the route shown along quiet Keystone roadways past the stables, through the Mountain House base area to the Gondola parking lot at River Run.
An alternative return is to come over the Swan Mtn path rather than back across the dam. See the Around Lake Dillon route for more information.
Turn-offs for Silverthorne are on the left but continue straight ahead to the back of the Amphitheater. Be sure to stay on the bike path and avoid the pedestrian-only path that splits off from the bike path in this area.
